Throwback perusal through, ‘Do I Come Here Often?’, with the mordant, miserable and entirely loveable Henry Rollins.
Rollins is an insightful man. His writing depicts an interesting and unusual paradox between intense masculinity and profound sensitivity. Emotionally eloquent throughout, the ‘Black Coffee Blues’, journal trilogy is well worth a read, especially if you’re tired of hearing nothing but bullshit from people.
The honesty, irreverence and dark humour in Rollins work is deliciously refreshing. Any time you have been blown out of your own orbit by life, or by others, should be viewed as an important reminder to rediscover your true core self. Reading can reset your mind, much like a broken bone, so you’re healing and whole and on your way again. Thanks Henry.
